  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced

Sauce ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Increase to 1.5 tablespoons for a thicker sauce.
  • 1 cup beef broth Can be substituted with vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.

Serving suggestion

  • Cooked rice as needed for serving Serve over rice or substitute with cauliflower rice for a lower carb option.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking apart as it cooks.
  • Add minced garlic and ginger; sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Stir in the broccoli florets and cook for 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender.
  • Mix beef broth, soy sauce, and cornstarch in a small bowl until smooth.
  • Pour the mixture into the skillet, stirring to combine well with beef and broccoli.
  • Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot over cooked rice, drizzled with extra sauce.

Notes

To store leftovers, use an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat on the stovetop over low heat to maintain texture.
