  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes peeled and diced
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for sautéing
  • ½ cup beef broth

Preparation

  • Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes, about ½ inch in size.
  • Finely chop the onion and garlic cloves.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes.
  • Add the chopped onion and garlic, and cook until softened and fragrant, roughly 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula, and cook until evenly browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Season the beef with salt, black pepper, and paprika, and stir well.
  • Gently fold in the diced potatoes, mixing them thoroughly with the beef and spices.
  • Pour in beef broth and stir until well combined.
  • Cover the skillet with a lid, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.
  • Serve hot, optionally garnished with fresh herbs.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze the dish for up to 3 months.
