  • 1 cup orzo pasta Can substitute with gluten-free orzo or any small pasta.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped To enhance flavor.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced For aroma and taste.
  • 2 cups beef broth You can adjust the amount based on desired sauce thickness.
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes Adds flavor and moisture.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Feel free to adjust according to taste.
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning.
  • to serve Parmesan cheese, grated Optional topping for serving.

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until it’s no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
  • Stir in the orzo pasta, beef broth, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and let simmer for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Once the orzo is tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed, serve hot and top with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

Transform leftovers into a baked casserole. To store, place leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3-4 days, or freeze for 2-3 months.
