  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, stirring occasionally for about 5-7 minutes until it is no longer pink and starts to sizzle.
  • Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened and fragrant.
  • Stir in the diced potatoes, mixing well, and allow them to cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and golden.
  • Add the drained diced tomatoes, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the mixture, stirring well to combine everything evenly. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until everything is heated through and harmonized.
  • If desired, sprinkle the shredded cheese on top. Cover the skillet and let the cheese melt for about 2-3 minutes until it's gooey and slightly bubbly.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions before serving. Enjoy your hearty plate of hamburger hash!
