  • 1 package hashbrowns
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup Can substitute with cream of mushroom for different flavor
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the hashbrowns, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, melted butter, shredded cheese, chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Stir until well-coated.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until golden brown and bubbly, checking around the 45-minute mark.
  • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For serving, garnish with chopped chives or parsley. Pairs well with a salad or roasted vegetables. To store, refrigerate for 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months before baking.
