Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, salt, shredded cheddar cheese, and dried herbs.
  • Make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk. Mix until just combined.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it just until it comes together.
  • Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Cut a deep cross into the top of the loaf.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  • Let it cool slightly before slicing.

Notes
