Ingredients
  

Dough ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water Make sure it's warm but not hot.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Topping ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs Optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour and salt.
  • Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour, and stir until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  • Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush with melted butter mixed with minced garlic and sprinkle with Italian herbs.
  • Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Slice and serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm with marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. You can freeze them wrapped tightly for up to 3 months.
