Ingredients
  

Chocolate Layer

  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips For melting
  • 2 tbsp shortening To mix with melted chocolate
  • 3 tbsp butter To mix with melted chocolate
  • 2 tbsp milk To mix with melted chocolate

Peanut Butter Filling

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter Adjust sweetness with the sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar Adjust to desired sweetness
  • 1 tbsp butter To mix with peanut butter

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Melt 1 cup of chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Stir in 1 tablespoon of shortening, 1 tablespoon of butter, and 2 tablespoons of milk until smooth.
  • Pour melted chocolate into a lined cupcake pan, about 1 tablespoon in each cup.
  • Slide the pan gently back and forth to level the chocolate.
  • Heat the peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl for about 1 minute.
  • Stir in the powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon of butter until smooth.
  • Pour the peanut butter mixture on top of the chocolate base, 1 tablespoon in each cup, and level it out.
  • Place the cupcake pan in the freezer for 15 minutes.

Topping

  • Melt the remaining 1 cup of chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Stir in 1 tablespoon of shortening and 1 tablespoon of butter until smooth.
  • Pour this mixture over the peanut butter layer, 1 tablespoon in each, and level it out.
  • Refrigerate until firm.

Serving

  • Serve chilled, cut into halves or quarters for bite-sized treats.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a week or freeze for up to 3 months. Lining the cupcake pan with paper liners helps remove the cups easily. Adjust the sweetness based on personal preference.
