  • 1 cup Fresh strawberries Use ripe strawberries for maximum flavor.
  • 3/4 cup Sugar Adjust based on the sweetness of the strawberries.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Adds sweetness and flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt Enhances flavors.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Wash and chop the fresh strawberries, removing any green stems, and cut them into small pieces.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the strawberries with sugar and let sit for about 30 minutes to release their juices.
  • In another bowl, mix the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  • After 30 minutes, combine the strawberries with the cream mixture and stir well.

Churning

  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually about 20 to 30 minutes.

Freezing

  • Transfer the churned ice cream to a container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

For a smoother texture, blend the mixture briefly before churning. Chill mixing bowls and ice cream maker bowl for better results. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the freezer for 1–2 weeks.
