  • 2 lbs Chicken (breast or thighs) Choose your preferred cut.
  • 1/3 cup Honey
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce Use tamari for a gluten-free option.
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger (fresh or grated) Ground ginger can be used as a substitute.
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil For cooking.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
  • rice or veggies for serving Rice or vegetables Serve alongside.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, grated ginger, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmering.

Cooking

  • Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, flipping once, until golden brown on both sides.
  • Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken and reduce heat to low. Let it simmer, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce thickens, about 10-15 minutes.
  • Serve the honey garlic chicken over rice or alongside sautéed vegetables.

Notes

For best flavor, serve hot and garnish with green onions or sesame seeds. This dish can also be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
