Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces chicken thighs, skin-on and bone-in
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated (optional) can be omitted for simpler flavors
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for cooking
  • to garnish Chopped green onions (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger if using. Set aside.
  • Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • In an oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add chicken thighs, skin-side down, and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden.
  • Flip the chicken thighs over and pour the honey-soy mixture over them.
  • Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Serving

  • Garnish with chopped green onions if desired and serve with steamed rice or noodles. Great paired with a fresh salad or steamed vegetables.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken thighs in the honey-soy mixture for a few hours or overnight before cooking. Skinless chicken thighs can be used; adjust the time accordingly. You can also add vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for a one-pan meal.
