Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup capers
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  • Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off the excess to achieve a golden crust.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the chicken breasts for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F). Remove chicken from the skillet.
  • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in fresh lemon juice, chicken broth, and capers. Bring to a simmer and reduce for about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter until melted and sauce is smooth.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet to coat it in the sauce.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley. This dish pairs well with pasta or a light salad.

Notes

For a restaurant-style finish, consider adding a dash of heavy cream to the sauce. This dish is versatile; serve with various sides based on your preference.
