  • 10 pieces lemons Choose firm, bright yellow lemons for the best flavor.
  • 1 liter vodka Use a good quality vodka for best results.
  • 3 cups water Water for syrup.
  • 2 cups sugar Sugar will be used to make a syrup.

Preparation

  • Wash the lemons thoroughly and zest them carefully, avoiding the white pith.
  • Place the lemon zest in a glass jar and pour in the vodka. Seal the jar and let it steep for 7 to 10 days in a cool, dark place.

Making the Syrup

  • After steeping, combine the water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved completely.
  • Allow the syrup to cool.

Combining and Bottling

  • Strain the lemon-infused vodka into the syrup and stir well.
  • Bottle the limoncello and let it chill in the freezer before serving.

Notes

Serve Italian Lemon Liqueur in small glasses directly from the freezer. Can be used in cocktails or drizzled over desserts like ice cream or cheesecake. Store in a sealed bottle in the freezer for several months.
