  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup mac and cheese (cooked) Leftover mac and cheese works great for this recipe.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese For a cheesy crust, sprinkle more on top before baking.
  • 1/2 cup onion (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, cooked mac and cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, cheddar cheese, chopped onion, and milk.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish and smooth out the top.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the top is golden brown.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve hot from the oven, sliced into portions. Pairs well with a fresh salad or steamed vegetables. For extra flavor, drizzle barbecue sauce or ketchup on top before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
