  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5 ounces)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup crushed buttery crackers (like Ritz)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped green onions.
  • Pour the chicken mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Topping Preparation

  • In a separate bowl, combine the crushed crackers and melted butter. Mix until the crackers are well coated.

Baking

  • Sprinkle the cracker mixture evenly over the chicken mixture in the baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
  • Let it cool for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, and it can be paired with a fresh green salad or steamed vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to 2 months. To reheat, warm in the oven or microwave. Customize with different cheeses or spices if desired.
