Ingredients
  

Bread and Dairy

  • 8 slices white bread
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup For sweetness
  • 1/4 cup melted butter To drizzle on top

Meats and Cheese

  • 8 slices ham
  • 8 slices turkey
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese Feel free to substitute with cheddar or provolone

Seasonings

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Cut the bread slices into cubes and place half of them in the prepared baking dish.
  • Layer the ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese over the bread cubes.
  • Cover the layers with the remaining bread cubes.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the bread layers in the baking dish.
  • Drizzle the melted butter on top of the casserole.

Baking

  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

To store leftovers, let the casserole cool completely and cover it tightly. It can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat by thawing in the fridge overnight and warming in the oven until heated through. For a vegetarian version, replace the ham and turkey with sautéed vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, and bell peppers.
