Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated, then stir in the vanilla extract and orange zest.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture, mixing just until combined.
  • Gently stir in the dried cranberries.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, ensure your ingredients are at room temperature. If you prefer thicker cookies, chill the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes before baking.
