Ingredients
  

For the crust

  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.5 cups sugar

For the cream filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cups orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • as needed Orange slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation of Crust

  • In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Mix until fully combined.
  • Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a lined 9x9-inch baking dish to form a crust.
  • Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set the crust firmly.

Preparation of Cream Filling

  • In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy, with no lumps.
  • In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, about 4-5 minutes.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
  • Stir in the orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Assembly

  • Pour the orange cream mixture over the chilled crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  • Once set, cut into bars, garnish with fresh orange slices if desired, and serve cold.

Notes

Best enjoyed cold, and can be stored for up to 5 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator. For longer storage, individually wrap and freeze for up to three months.
