Ingredients
  

For the crust

  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar

For the filling

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped cream or whipped topping
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preparation of the crust

  • In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Mix well until the crumbs are evenly coated.
  • Press this mixture tightly into the bottom of a square baking pan to form the crust.
  • Refrigerate for about 10 minutes to firm up the crust.

Preparation of the filling

  • In another bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • Gently fold in the whipped cream, orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract until everything is well combined and creamy.

Assembly

  • Pour the cheesecake mixture over the chilled crust. Use a spatula to smooth out the top for an even layer.

Chilling

  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the bars are set completely.
  • Once set, cut into bars and serve chilled.

Notes

These bars are best served chilled and can be garnished with extra orange zest or a dollop of whipped cream. They can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
