  • 1 cup marinara sauce Choose a favorite brand or homemade.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Brush each chicken breast with olive oil.
  • Coat each chicken breast with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently.
  • Place the coated chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, spoon marinara sauce over each piece, and top with mozzarella cheese.
  • Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

Serve hot over spaghetti or alongside garlic bread. This dish pairs well with a light red wine like Chianti. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. You can also freeze for 2-3 months.
