Preparation

  • Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Allow the chicken to sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before cooking.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add butter until melted and bubbling.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the skillet without overcrowding and sear for 6-7 minutes on each side.
  • Ensure the chicken is golden brown and has reached an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • Let the chicken rest on a plate for about 5 minutes.
  • Sauté minced garlic in the same skillet for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Deglaze the skillet with lemon juice, scraping the delicious bits off the bottom.
  • Drizzle the garlic-lemon sauce over the chicken and garnish with fresh herbs, if desired.

Notes

Best served hot with sides like mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
