Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 pieces fully cooked bone-in ham (about 10-12 pounds)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup apple cider or orange juice

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, Dijon mustard, honey, cloves, and black pepper to create the glaze.
  • Place the ham in a roasting pan, and score the surface with a sharp knife in a diamond pattern.
  • Brush the ham generously with the glaze, and pour the apple cider or orange juice into the bottom of the pan.

Cooking

  • Cover the ham loosely with foil and bake for about 1.5 to 2 hours, basting every 30 minutes with the remaining glaze.
  • In the last 30 minutes, uncover the ham to let it caramelize.
  • Once the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C), remove from the oven and let it rest before carving.

Notes

Serve this ham sliced and warm. It pairs excellently with side dishes like mashed potatoes, green beans, and cranberry sauce. For storage, wrap leftovers tightly and refrigerate, or freeze for 2-3 months.
