Ingredients
  

For the blackened shrimp

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Ensure shrimp are thawed if using frozen
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper Adjust based on spice preference
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For cooking

For the remoulade sauce

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Hot sauce Optional, for heat

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over the shrimp, coating them well.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are cooked through and have a nice blackened color.

Remoulade Preparation

  • While the shrimp cook, prepare the remoulade sauce. In another bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, parsley, and hot sauce if using. Mix everything until smooth.

Serving

  • Remove the shrimp from the heat once they are done and serve immediately with the remoulade sauce on the side.

Notes

Serve with rice, fresh salad, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for about 2 days.
