  • 1 cup white chocolate chips Can substitute with milk chocolate if preferred.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries Alternatively, use crushed dried strawberries.
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles (optional) For decoration.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, measure out the Rice Chex cereal.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until melted and smooth.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal, gently stirring to coat.
  • In a separate bag, combine the powdered sugar and crushed freeze-dried strawberries.
  • Add the coated cereal to the bag and shake until fully covered.
  • Spread out on a baking sheet to cool.
  • Add sprinkles if desired.
  • Allow to cool completely before serving.

Notes

Store the Puppy Chow in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. Make sure it's completely cooled before sealing to avoid moisture buildup. For extra flavor, add a pinch of salt to the melted chocolate mixture. You can switch cereals or use different sprinkles for variety.
