Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can be substituted with gluten-free baking blend.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix-Ins

  • 1 cup pretzels, crushed Use a rolling pin or food processor to crush.
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce Reserve half for topping.
  • to taste pinch sea salt for sprinkling Adjust based on preference.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth (about 2-3 minutes).
  • Add in eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until glossy (about 1 minute).
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually fold in dry ingredients into the wet mixture until no dry flour remains.
  • Gently stir in crushed pretzels and half the salted caramel sauce.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Drizzle remaining caramel sauce on top and sprinkle with sea salt.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

Cooling

  • Allow blondies to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. For presentation, dust with powdered sugar and use chocolate drizzle if desired. Pair with ice cream or coffee for a delightful contrast.
