Preparation

  • In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes, stirring periodically to break it apart.
  • Once browned, sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir until well combined, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Gradually add the milk while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Continue to cook until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Season the gravy with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot over warm biscuits.

Notes

For best flavor, serve hot over warm biscuits. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator. You can also freeze for up to 2-3 months.
