Ingredients

Noodles

  • 3 packages 3 (3-ounce) packages instant ramen noodles, flavor packets discarded

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional) Can be omitted if desired
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon chili sauce, sambal, or sriracha Adjust to taste
  • 1/4 cup water

Seasonings

  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced For garnish
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds For garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat. Add the noodles and cook until al dente according to the package instructions, about 3 minutes. Drain.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar (if using), chili sauce, and water.

Cooking

  • Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is glistening, add the garlic and ginger and cook, stirring often, until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Add the sauce to the pan and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
  • Stir in cooked ramen noodles until heated through and evenly coated in sauce, about 3 minutes.
  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For added protein, consider mixing in cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu. Adjust the heat by varying the amount of chili sauce to your taste. If you like extra texture, add some steamed vegetables like broccoli, bell peppers, or snap peas at the end.
