Preparation

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the ground beef until there's just a hint of pink left. Drain excess fat.
  • Add the diced onion, thyme, parsley, and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Cook for about 3 to 5 minutes until onions soften.
  • Transfer the beef and onion mixture to the slow cooker along with chopped cabbage.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and water. Stir well.
  • Pour the sauce over the beef and cabbage mixture in the slow cooker and mix gently.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.

Notes

Chop veggies evenly for uniform cooking. Prep ahead by browning beef and chopping veggies the night before. Adjust seasoning before serving to taste.
