Ingredients
  

For the Apple Filling

  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

For the Cobbler Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar remaining for the batter

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, 1/2 cup of sugar, and cinnamon. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
  • Spread the apple mixture in the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.

Make the Cobbler Batter

  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Make sure there are no lumps for a light and fluffy texture.

Combine and Bake

  • Pour the batter evenly over the apple mixture without stirring.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set.

Serving

  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing, and experiment with fruits or toppings for added flavor.
