  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground meat (beef, turkey, or sausage)

Cheese Mixture

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Sauce and Seasoning

  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs (basil, oregano)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste Use according to preference

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Drain and toss with olive oil.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese and cream cheese with dried herbs, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and well-blended.

Cooking Meat Sauce

  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground meat for about 5-7 minutes or until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Pour in the marinara sauce and simmer for about 5 minutes.

Assembly and Baking

  • In a pie dish, layer the spaghetti at the bottom.
  • Pour the meat sauce over the spaghetti.
  • Spoon the ricotta mixture on top, spreading it evenly.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve hot or warm with a simple green salad and a glass of red wine. Can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
