Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 4 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 2 each green onions, sliced

For Serving

  • Cooked rice For serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, corn starch, minced garlic, and ginger. Whisk the mixture until smooth and well-blended.
  • Heat a tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Make sure the oil is hot but not smoking.

Cooking

  • Add the bite-sized chicken pieces to the pan, spreading them out to avoid overcrowding. Cook for about 5 to 7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown all over.
  • Carefully pour the prepared sauce over the chicken. Stir gently to coat every piece thoroughly.
  • Allow the mixture to cook for about 2 to 3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  • Once thickened, remove the pan from heat. Sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions over the chicken before serving.
  • Place generous servings over cooked rice for a complete meal.

Notes

For a balanced meal, serve with a side salad or steamed broccoli. Marinate chicken for an hour ahead for deeper flavor.
