Ingredients
  

For the pudding

  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk Use cold milk for a thicker pudding.
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping Whipped topping should be cold.

For layering

  • 2 cups strawberries, sliced Opt for ripe but firm strawberries.
  • 2 bananas, sliced bananas, sliced Choose ripe bananas for sweetness.
  • 1 package (12 oz) vanilla wafers or similar cookies Preserve crunch by layering just before serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and milk for 2 minutes until thick and creamy.
  • Gently fold in the whipped topping to maintain its light, airy texture.

Layering

  • In a large serving dish, layer vanilla wafers at the bottom.
  • Add half of the sliced strawberries and half of the sliced bananas.
  • Spread half of the pudding mixture on top.
  • Repeat the layering with the remaining ingredients and finish with a layer of pudding.
  • Decorate the top with remaining strawberries and bananas.

Chilling

  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Freezing is not recommended due to the texture changes.
