For the Frosting

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened Essential for frosting.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar Adds sweetness without grittiness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract More vanilla for flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon milk Adjust for desired consistency.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla until frothy. Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix until a soft dough forms.

Rolling and Baking

  • On a floured surface, roll out dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick. Sprinkle cinnamon and strawberries evenly over dough.
  • Roll it up tightly from one edge to the other and slice into rolls about 1 to 1.5 inches wide.
  • Place rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving space between them. Bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Making the Frosting

  • While rolls bake, make the cream cheese frosting by beating together cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.

Serving

  • Once rolls are out of the oven, let them cool slightly. Spread cream cheese frosting on top while they are still warm.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Don't overwork the dough for fluffy rolls. Room temperature ingredients work best.
