  • 6 large eggs Can substitute with aquafaba for a vegan version.
  • 2 cups milk Almond milk or coconut milk can be used for dairy-free.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon Can add a pinch of nutmeg for added warmth.
  • Powdered sugar for serving Optional, for garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  • Trim the crusts off the brioche bread and cut it into 1-inch cubes. Layer half of the bread cubes in the prepared baking dish.
  • Spread the softened cream cheese evenly over the layer of brioche cubes.
  • Distribute the sliced strawberries over the cream cheese layer.
  • Top with the remaining brioche cubes.

Egg Mixture Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth.
  • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered bread, ensuring every piece is soaked. Press down gently.
  • Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Remove the cover from the baking dish and bake uncovered for about 45-55 minutes, until golden brown and set in the center.
  • Let cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with warm maple syrup.

Notes

To store leftovers, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze individual servings for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through.
