  • 1 stick 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter Unsalted for better control of flavor.
  • ½ can ½ can sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup ½ cup sugar cookie mix You can use any brand.
  • 1 bag 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows Plus extra for folding in and topping.
  • 5–6 cups 5–6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • Christmas sprinkles For decoration.

Preparation

  • Melt the butter in a Dutch oven over medium heat until it begins to caramelize.
  • Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and stir until smooth and glossy.
  • Stir in the sugar cookie mix and simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add mini marshmallows and stir until melted.
  • Remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispies cereal.
  • Fold in extra mini marshmallows and sprinkles gently.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and press down lightly.
  • Top with extra marshmallows and sprinkles.
  • Chill in the fridge for 1 hour before slicing and serving.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days. In warm climates, keep in the refrigerator to prevent melting. For a fun presentation, consider adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.
