  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 1 scoop sweet filling (red bean paste, custard, chocolate, or any preferred filling) Choose your favorite filling.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, and vegetable oil.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Cooking

  • Preheat a taiyaki pan and lightly grease it.
  • Pour batter into the pan, add a spoonful of your desired filling, then cover with more batter.
  • Close the pan and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Remove from the pan and serve warm.

Notes

Ensure your taiyaki pan is well-preheated for even cooking. Don’t overfill it with the filling; a spoonful is usually enough. Experiment with different fillings to find your favorite combination. If the batter is too thick, add a little more milk to achieve the right consistency.
