Sauce and Veggies

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup You can use homemade soup for a fresher taste.
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables No chopping needed!

Topping

  • 2 cups tater tots Try sweet potato tots for a twist!
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar is classic, but feel free to experiment.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until cooked through and drain the excess fat.
  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and frozen mixed vegetables. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Transfer the mixture into a baking dish and spread evenly.
  • Layer the tater tots on top of the meat mixture, either in rows or casually.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese over the tater tots.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  • Let the casserole rest for a few moments before serving hot.

Notes

You can assemble the casserole a day in advance and keep it covered in the fridge until ready to bake. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3-4 days. Tater Tot Casserole can be frozen for up to three months.
