Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream Use high-quality heavy cream for best results.
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk Regular or low-fat options work well.
  • 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled Use strong brewed coffee for a richer flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract is recommended.
  • 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese For best flavor, use a high-quality mascarpone.

Garnish

  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder For dusting on top before freezing.
  • Chocolate shavings For serving garnished on top.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, cooled coffee, vanilla extract, and mascarpone cheese until well combined and smooth.
  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions (typically about 20-25 minutes).
  • Once churned, transfer the ice cream to a lidded container and sprinkle cocoa powder on top.
  • Freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.

Serving

  • Serve in bowls or cones, garnished with chocolate shavings or additional cocoa powder.

Notes

For best results, serve ice cream when it reaches a firm but scoopable texture, ideally around -10°F. To avoid ice crystal formation, store in the back of the freezer.
