  • 2 cups heavy cream Use high-quality heavy cream for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract recommended.
  • 2 teaspoons gelatin powder Make sure to bloom it properly.
  • 3 tablespoons cold water Used to bloom the gelatin.

For Serving

  • Fruit sauce (e.g., raspberry or strawberry) For topping, adds flavor and color.

Preparation

  • In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot, but not boiling.
  • In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over cold water and let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.
  • Once the cream mixture is hot, remove it from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved.
  • Pour the mixture into individual serving cups or molds.
  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.

Serving

  • Carefully unmold the panna cotta from the cups or serve them directly in the cups.
  • Drizzle the top with your favorite fruit sauce, such as raspberry or strawberry, for added flavor and color.
  • Garnish with fresh berries or mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Store any leftover Vanilla Panna Cotta in the refrigerator covered to prevent it from absorbing odors. Best eaten within 3 days. Ensure the cream mixture does not boil for best texture.
