Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups watermelon, cubed Fresh and ripe for best results.
  • 1 piece jalapeño pepper, sliced Adjust the amount based on desired spice level.
  • 1/2 cup tequila Use your preferred brand.
  • 1/4 cup lime juice Freshly squeezed for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup triple sec Can substitute with a sugar-free alternative for less sweetness.
  • as needed as needed Ice Crushed or whole, depending on preference.
  • as needed as needed Salt for rimming Optional; use coarse salt.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a blender, combine the cubed watermelon and sliced jalapeño. Blend until smooth, roughly 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, discarding any solids left behind for a smooth juice.
  • To the pitcher with the watermelon juice, add the tequila, lime juice, and triple sec. Stir to combine all the ingredients evenly until well-blended, around 15-30 seconds.
  • If desired, rub the rim of each glass with a lime slice, then dip into a plate of salt to coat the edges lightly.
  • Fill the prepared glasses with ice, ensuring they’re packed for optimal chill.
  • Pour the watermelon jalapeño margarita mixture over the ice, filling the glass to your preferred level.
  • Garnish each drink with a slice of jalapeño or watermelon on the rim and serve immediately while chilled.

Notes

Serve these margaritas chilled for the best experience. They pair well with zesty appetizers like shrimp tacos or spicy nachos.
